Change is the only real constant
Hello sailor,
I've started writing this email several times now. And I have not sent it just as many times.
Normally I have a good sense of purpose for the email, but with this one I do not.
This time it is also aimed at a minority of readers, but everyone is welcome to read it.
I also cannot decide if I am writing it to inform, or to get something off my chest.
The subject is emotionally charged, which I usually try to avoid.
Here it goes.
Dear American customers,
The political system in your country (in practice) only allows for two candidates to run for president. It seems obvious now that that choice is too limited.
Together with the political sentiment in your country, this has resulted in the biggest idiot in modern history being elected as leader (or "leader" in this case) of a western nation.
He then sacked all the people that know how to run a country and surrounded himself with other idiots to do those jobs.
The turmoil his bullying so far has created has already made me decide to stop shipping to the US a few months ago. I just do not want to deal with the fuss that can easily come from the potential mess at customs.
After 30 years of being in business, I think it is normal for shocks in the economy to take a few years to settle down, if things go well. That means the if everything goes as planned, the fuss will last for about 7-8 years, as change will probably not start before the idiots term is over.
Maybe change will come sooner, but I will not hold my breath...
I wish you good luck and wisdom, wherever you live and whatever nationality you have.
Regards,
Sven
