WoodenB entering prototype stage

Hello Sailor!

The last general newsletter gave me some good feedback and it still seems worth while to pursue the development of WoodenB.

The programming is ready for the first trial runs I plan to make the first prototype parts once the schools start again.

I will take pictures as I go along, to be able to give you a better view of how you would receive the parts and what tasks would need to be completed.

One question that was asked following the last general newsletter was if WoodenB would be sold as a set of plans, for a super low price.

I have thought about this in the past and kept it in the back of my mind the last few days but I keep coming back to the same conclusion:

Offering plans for you to make exactly the same system does not make sense.

If I would need to turn this design in to something that can be made at home, with limited tools. I would have to redesign it to suit the possibly available tools. And that is a very big task, one I do not think is worth my time.

However, in writing this I realise that I could offer a kit that may be of use to the super keen DIY enthousiast.

I can offer you "B":

WoodenB without any of the wood, but including the complete Mister Vee windvane. No real plans included, except for rudimentary dimensions and the locations of the holes in the base and the dimensions and shape of the rudder.

The price would probably be slightly less than the price of WoodenB, but that would include the complete Mister Vee windvane, where WoodenB has plywood parts.

I hope to be able to show you the first WoodenB parts in a few weeks time!
