Mr. Vane, vane base modification for locked windvane problem

With the earliest models of Mr. Vane, sold from 2007 (So NOT the xprmntl verzion) had a design flaw.
This would allow the windvane to be locked in a swung out position, consequently making the pendulum rudder go to the surface and stay there, leaving the boats rudder in an off center position too.
There is a fix available for which you may need some parts from Mister Vee.
Please check the manual below and compare with your Mr. Vane.
If you require the parts, they will be shipped free of charge.
If your system has the Off Center Vane Mast, this fix is not needed.
