The windvane is the sensor for change in the (apparent) wind direction.

The pushrod runs through the vane mast and connects the windvane with the gear axle and ultimately, the pendulum rudder. Start the assembly with this one, unless you know you will (or think you may) need to mount the windvane at a lower height than standard.

The Vane mast carries the windvane and shelters the pushrod. It also allows for the course to be set.
