On the drawing board

Mister Vee is constantly on the lookout for new ideas to add to the self steering solutions.
This is where those ideas are presented.

DIY self steering

In the recent Mister Vee road map survey, the statement that was most chosen by respondents was " I would like the Mister Vee systems to have a lower purchase price"
So your Mister Vee started up the design software and set to work.

Here is what we have in mind:

WoodenB, the first flatpack self steering system.

Made from cnc routed plywood, based on the design of Y&B.
The kit comes with some cnc made plastic parts where wood is not suitable and fasteners are included.
Material for the unique Mister Vee windvane are also supplied.

Basically everything is supplied to get you a complete self steering system except:

  • Epoxy
  • Paint (epoxy has to be painted, it has no resistance to UV)
  • Steering lines
  • maybe some bits and bobs

Please let us know what you think of the plans through the forum (link at the top of this page)

Navik

For as long as Mister Vee has been making replacement parts for Navik, one of the questions that was asked a lot was "Do you offer the trimtab?"

The answer always was "No".

But that may be about to change.
Development on the current epoxy foam rudder for the Mister Vee systems opened up possibilities for the Navik paddle too.

Today the first successful trial emerged for manufacturing the trimtab in composite material:

The trimtab lever has been designed and was found to have the correct geometry.

The next step:
Make a usable version of this trimtab

Meanwhile, the files for the rudder blade have been made, next step is to create the mold.
